WASTE TO ENERGY (WtE)

Waste to Eenrgy (recovery from waste by thermal treatment) is the widely accpetable solution for waste residue. Israel plans few central WtE facilties to reduce landfill rate and increase energy recovery.

 

Yoav Yinon is technical advisor to WtE PPP concession projects (in cooperation with Volker Grotefeld from Germany), including:

Neot Hovav WtE (in progress 2022)

South district central plant, mainly for Beer Sheva city area, with 150,000 t/y capacity and optional double expansion. Enenrgy production approximately 20 MW. Project includes on site sorting facility for mixed MSW, and delivery of non-recycable material to energy recovery incineration.

Maale Edomim (2019-2022 terminated)

Greater Jerusalem regional pant with 585,000 t/y capacity, including on site sorting plant for mixed MSW 600,000 t/y. Activity included basic engineering, prequalification phase and full tender documents publishing.
